Overview

Glencore has engaged MinStaff Survey to perform a Bathymetric Survey of their Tailings Dams to quantify sedimentation levels and dam capacity onsite. Works were completed with MinStaff Survey’s remote controlled water craft for safety and efficiency.

Scope of Works

  • Establish Ground Control for bathymetric survey
  • Survey of water depth and sendiment levels using dual frequency sonar equipment
  • Mapping of tailings bottom and verification of as-built structure
  • Compute and reduce data from survey to create and DTM used to calculate water and sendiment volumes
